CarReward provides a self-service technology platform that empowers employers to offer company car schemes with ease and efficiency. Backed by leading experts in fleet management and company car taxation, the platform streamlines every stage of the process, from vehicle selection to compliance, enabling businesses to offer electric and low-emission vehicles through salary sacrifice and other flexible arrangements.
Specialising in electric vehicle (EV) salary sacrifice schemes, CarReward clearly presents employee pricing in net terms, making benefits easy to understand and compare. The platform integrates seamlessly with funder and broker systems, as well as internal employer platforms, ensuring a smooth, connected, and user-friendly experience from start to finish.
The Challenge
CarReward required a robust, scalable system designed entirely from the ground up. The platform needed to support multiple user types – including employers, employees, and brokers, each with their own access levels and user journeys. Seamless integration with both internal systems and third-party funder and broker platforms was essential, along with a suite of APIs to support real-time pricing, ordering, and payroll deductions.
Security and compliance were critical throughout, particularly given the sensitive nature of payroll and vehicle data. Balancing complex logic with a simple, intuitive user experience was central to the challenge.
The Solution
We designed and built the CarReward platform, a modular, API-driven system tailored to manage every aspect of a company car arrangement. From employer policy setup to the complete employee shopping and ordering experience, the platform simplifies complex workflows into a seamless, intuitive journey.
Employers can configure policies in under three minutes, including funding options, insurance, charger preferences, NIC savings, and tax positions, all with automatically generated documentation and full tax compliance. Employees enjoy a self-service interface where they can browse eligible vehicles, compare costs in clear net terms, add optional extras, and place orders with real-time updates and full transparency.
The platform is built using React.js on the front end, coupled with a PHP Laravel backend, delivering a fast, modern user experience with powerful API capabilities and secure, scalable server-side logic. It integrates effortlessly with funder and broker platforms, CRM systems, and internal employer tools, while maintaining the highest standards of data security and compliance.
